Full-Time Senior Accountant​

 

Redwoods Rural Health Center is seeking a Senior Accountant who possesses a deep understanding of accounting principles, a proven record of advising on business and tax matters, and a passion for excellence. In this role, you'll collaborate with our team, lead special projects and will be responsible for a company’s financial procedures, records and statements for compliance with laws and regulations.

 

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzing complex financial reports and records

  • Overseeing billing and ensuring accuracy

  • Overseeing the vendors' payments and ensuring accuracy

  • Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations

  • Assisting with bank, financial, and tax audits

  • Documenting and monitoring internal controls

  • Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments

  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the CFO if necessary.

  • Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist the CFO in running audits.

  • Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

  • Delegate financial responsibilities to the accounting team.

  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.

  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.

  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents.

  • Supporting month-end and year-end close

  • Preparing financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas

  • Collaborates closely with the Finance Director and/or CFO in the development of annual operational, capital, and federal budgets that support the organization’s long and short-range plans and objectives and reflects the board approved strategic plan.

  • Supervising accounting staff
     

  • General Ledger

    • Perform month-end closing procedures

    • Research and correct any out-of-balance situations between the GL and sub-ledger

    • Analyze, amortize, and reconcile prepaid accounts

    • Prepare assigned journal entries

    • Prepare assigned general ledger reconciliations

    • Review general ledger reconciliations prepared by others

    • Prepare monthly commissions.
       

  • Accounting Operations

    • Oversee the parcel billing, payments, and reconciliations

    • Review and approve AP payments

    • Review and release wire/ACH payments

    • Oversee Grants Receivables and related activities

    • Evaluate policies and procedures annually to ensure that they are relevant

    • Assists the Finance Director and/or CFO in identifying undesirable trends and potential business opportunities.

    • Complete special projects and reports, as requested by the Finance Director and/or CFO.

    • Identify and implement technology, automation, and outsourcing opportunities to drive efficiency

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a similar major is required

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a healthcare setting

  • Knows the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Demonstrates strong technical accounting skills

  • Shows strong leadership skills and manages a growing accounting team

  • Listens and communicates well with staff, leadership, providers, and patients

  • Accepts constructive criticism well.  Provides constructive criticism in an appropriate manner

  • Works well under pressure and maintains a positive and productive energy-level

  • Shows professionalism and poise when dealing with patients, providers, and co-workers

Full-Time Case Manager​

 

Redwoods Rural Health Center is seeking a full-time Case Manager to provide integrated, supportive and enabling services to individuals and families. Case Managers collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care and assist patients in accessing services and utilizing resources to support their medical, dental, behavioral health, and socioeconomic needs. Case Managers identify and address a variety of non-clinical social determinants of health (SDoH) to promote positive health outcomes and reduce health inequities. Case Managers are dedicated to serving marginalized or otherwise underserved populations with the lowest access to resources in our community. Populations of focus served by Case Managers include individuals and families who would benefit from enhanced care management and/or who are experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness; substance use disorder or mental health issues.

Full-Time Medical Assistant​

Redwoods Rural Health Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. Successful candidates will have good computer skills and be able to work in a team environment with patients who have a variety of healthcare needs. Will train those motivated to learn. Must have at least one year’s experience working in a healthcare environment. Experienced, Certified Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Tech preferred.

Full-Time Medical Front Desk
Reception / Medical Assistant​

 

Redwoods Rural Health Center is looking for an experienced full-time Front Desk / Medical Assistant to join our Team! The Front Desk / Medical Assistant role combines key responsibilities from both the front desk and medical assistant functions to support patient care and smooth operations at Redwoods Rural Health Center in Fortuna and Redway clinics. The individual in this position will be the first point of contact for patients, performing a variety of customer service, clerical, and cash management tasks. In addition to these duties, the individual will assist patients and healthcare providers by delivering administrative and clinical medical assistant support services. Clinical tasks will be performed in line with training and certification requirements. This position requires someone who is caring, compassionate, able to multi-task, and dedicated to helping patients access needed services in a busy, team-oriented environment.

Full-Time Dental Assistant​

Redwoods Rural Health Center (RRHC) is looking for a 

Dental Assistant to work in a fun, friendly and fast paced clinic.

 

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dental Lead Assistant and the general and daily supervision of the Dentist with whom he/she works, the Dental Assistant (DA) / Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) will provide a variety of clerical, housekeeping, and clinical functions that ensure a high performing Dental service delivery.​
